Cuisinart PerfecTemp 1.7-Liter Electric Kettle
An electric kettle with six preset temperature buttons and a keep-warm mode. A good upgrade for someone who drinks a lot of tea.
$118.39
This is a 1.7-liter cordless kettle with six preset buttons labeled by tea type — so you don't have to remember that green tea wants 175°F. It also has a keep-warm mode that holds temperature for 30 minutes, and you can lift it off the base for up to two minutes without it shutting off.
It's not the fastest kettle and it doesn't hold heat especially well once it's off the base. One independent review called it "somewhat slow" and "not well-insulated."
It comes with a three-year warranty and has a removable scale filter. You'll need to descale it occasionally with vinegar if you have hard water.
Why it works
- Preset buttons are labeled by tea type — no guessing temperatures.
- Keep-warm mode holds heat for 30 minutes between cups.
- Lift it off the base to pour without resetting everything.
Who it's for
- Someone who drinks multiple types of tea and cares about temperature.
- A person who makes several cups in a row and hates reheating.
What to know
- Independent testers found it slower and less insulated than average.
- If you lift it off the base for more than 2 minutes, it shuts off.
- You'll need to descale it with vinegar if you have hard water.
