CGE Czech Games Edition
Codenames Board Game
A team word game where you give one-word clues to help teammates find the right cards. Quick rounds, works for groups.
$24.98
This is a team game built around word association. One person on each team gives a single-word clue that points to multiple cards on the table. Their teammates try to pick the right ones without hitting the other team's cards or the assassin.
Rounds are fast — about 15 minutes. It's made for 4–8 people, so it works well for game nights when you have a group. If the person you're giving this to mostly plays games with just one other person, they'd want Codenames Duet instead.
This edition has a refreshed word list and a slightly cleaner rulebook than the original.
Why it works
- Rounds are short enough to fit into a weeknight.
- Built for teams, so everyone's involved at once.
- You don't need to explain complicated rules before you start.
Who it's for
- Someone who hosts game nights with 4+ people regularly.
- A household that likes word games but not long strategy sessions.
What to know
- Needs at least 4 players. Not great for couples or pairs.
- If they already own the original Codenames, this is just a refresh.
